I don’t know about you, but the renewal of spring always brings a hectic schedule with its beautiful blossoms and buds. So, today I want to share you a great looking upcycled DIY craft that you can complete in a number of minutes.
To start, I have a random collection of clear votives holders hanging around. So, I decided to unify them a bit with some little white votives that I poured the last time I made candles. You may substitute any spring colored candles that you have on hand.
I knew I wanted something artistic on these darling little candles. After thinking about if for a few days I realized that I have these mini button pins all over the place! There were many options to choose from as I have been accumulating them for years. For my project, I chose three pastel colored 1” pins with my “Something to Cherish” embroidered watercolor art on them. For your project, select the mini button pins that you want to decorate your votives with.
Next, quickly go to your ribbon stash and pick out a lovely colored spring ribbon that will coördinate with your mini buttons pins. In my case, I chose a soft gingham ribbon made by my dear friends and Colorado neighbors at Creative Impressions.
Lastly, cut the ribbon long enough for it to wrap around the votive and then hot-glue gun it in all in place. Be sure to pin the button on to the ribbon on one side and add a little extra glue in the middle. Voila, the mini button is now the center of focus of a pleasant little spring centerpiece.
And that’s all folks! Wasn’t it easy?
Hope this little project brings a warm light to your spring schedule.
