Brandi, please introduce yourself & describe your current work as an artist?
I’m a 30 something artist & entrepreneur who is infinitely passionate about life. I love peanut butter, olives and cheese in no particular order and have a background in corporate finance. I grew up in Boca Raton, FL have enjoyed time living in Laguna Beach, Philadelphia and now reside in Boston, MA.

As an artist  my multimedia and graphic art style is ever changing and I have developed a comfort in letting it do just that. Depending on the licensing demands or the wants of a client, I allow my creativity to adapt itself as the needs arise. By trade, I am a freelance, lifestyle and journalistic photographer with clients ranging from newborns to multi-million dollar retailers. Most recently, I developed my art prints into a 300 item collection of throw pillows and I have self published my first book; The Waves, The Tides and The Sea: An Artistic Collection of Words.

Who do you currently sell your art to and who do you wish to sell it to?
I currently sell my artwork via the Etsy network and by referral. This includes individuals and wholesale to shops across the US. I look forward to all future opportunities in licensing and thrive on working directly with consumers in the Etsy network as well as across the web. I love being active on social media to share my work.

How did you get started in your area of art?
My journey into art began with acrylics in 2009. I was scanning paintings and keeping them as .jpgs in my archives when I realized I could then take those .jpgs and layer in photographs and text. There, my fusion arts were born.  I began making them for friends and then friends for friends, etc. I uploaded my first item to Etsy in June 2011 and it sold within a few hours. I am about to hit the 1000th order in my shop and I could not be happier! Etsy changed my life and I made the choice to let it.

What do you think sets you apart from all of the other artists out there doing what you do?
I believe it is the personal nature of my custom work; as well as the variety and adaptability, that sets me apart from most other artists. I enjoy working directly with people to create something that not only is aesthetically pleasing from an artistic perspective but also something that speaks to them in emotional volumes.  Whether it be a city they have lived in or a pet that they have loved, I thrive on creating things that are unique and that no one else will have.

What advice would you give to an artist starting out today?
The advice I would give an artist starting out today is to be minimally afraid of vulnerability and to work hard.

What is something you cherish?
I cherish the ability to be mindful. And, my Rotatrim cutter.
