Operation Christmas Child – Shoe Boxes of Treats for Needy Children

Ahhh, Christmas is on the horizon. It’s my favorite time of the year. One of my most meaningful holiday traditions is to fill up shoe boxes with goodies. My family has been preparing shoe boxes for children throughout the world since it all started in 1993. I have been storing up special little gifts for my shoe boxes all year long and can’t wait to finish them up.

Can you believe that Samaritan’s Purse, the organizers if the project ,collected, processed and distributed over 8 million shoe boxes to kids in need last year?!!! This year one of the many countries they will be delivered to is Haiti along with other areas of the world damaged by natural disasters, war, and poverty. Wow, talk about being a part of something big that is making a difference in the lives of children in these hurting places.

This year as you are buying gifts and preparing for your celebrations, why not pick up some little gifts for children that would otherwise go without? The most wonderful treasures can be packed into a shoe box and they can transform a child’s outlook on life at the same time.

This is a wonderful holiday project that you can share with your children and grandchildren. You can really multiply the blessing as you model a generous heart to your loved ones.
