5 things we might not know about you that you’d like to share
- I am married to an awesome guy, Benjamin Hummel, who survived not one but TWO liver transplants when he was a teenager due to an auto immune disorder that he was born with. He is an artist, too. I am so lucky to have him in my life. You can see some of his work at www.Painting for Life.com.
- During the summer of 2008 I had my first rib removed (the one under my left clavicle) since it was damaged in a car accident (I was not at fault). The dislocated rib caused a huge clot in my left arm several hundred blot clots broke off and passed through my heart and into my lungs. I am EXCEPTIONALLY grateful to God that I am still alive and back in the studio making new art!
- I wake up almost every morning with a purring cat on my good shoulder. Her name is Lady Guinevere (Guinny for short), my little sister named her after she was rescued as a kitten from the streets of Kansas.

5 things going on in your creative world
- I am learning Corel Painter for the 3rd time since its release. I am really excited about the watercolor brushes. Thinking about some hybrid art-making possibilities.
- I will be exhibiting at CHA for the 3rd year in the License & Design section in Anaheim, CA. My lightbox is stacked with a ton of ideas and paintings for new watercolor embroidery art licensing collections.
- Also, as a part of CHA 2010 I am participating in the crafting around the world exhibit and will share art inspired by Sweden.
- Our studio is also working on some new digital art products for computers and the iPhone with a new licensing partner . . . stayed tuned for details.
- Oh, and did I mention that my husband and I are also excited to share our collection of Christmas cards? You can check those out and sign up for a friends only e-mail update list at www.PaintingForLife.com.

Cherish,
Both your blog and you are adorable. I enjoyed meeting you and your talented husband at Surtex.
Blessings,
Joy
I really like the craft project and your choice of names for the gift tag. Your work is very cool and always inspires me to try new things. Thank you for sharing your life, husband and feline daughter with us. She is easily able to inspire at least a book or more of interesting antics. Keep sharing your art with the world and God bless you, Ben and Guinevere!

Hi Cherish, Its nice to know more about you. You were very lucky and have a guardian angel on your shoulder (as does your husband). Good luck with CHA preparation and see you there!

random fun fact about myself? i love to drink coffee, but mostly i just love a warm mug and the ritual of drinking coffee. :)
Charish, I am so grateful you’re apart of our creative community. What challenges you and your husband have faced. Each of which I am certain lend to the spirit of your lovely work.
Warmly,

Cherish, it’s nice to get to know you better!
My mother in law also has had two liver transplants, she is now the longest living liver transplant, being one of the very first people to have it done back when it was brand new.
Your husband must be a wonderful and strong man!
See you in Anaheim!!!
Cheers, Brenda Pinnick
Just got back from a 2 week visit with my aging mom. Had a nice time and helped get some stuff organized for her. We all know how an organized home makes for peace and tranquility! I’m needing some of that now that I’m home! Love the cards! Something special to give with a gift….
thank you ever so much for opening your door ~
and inviting me in to your art & much more!
benjamin & guinevere must truly inspire
and of your heart & your talent they must never tire.
i can tell from what you’ve shared that you truly are blessed
may you enjoy good health, great art & to you all the best!
I really loved your tid-bits. It was nice to get to know you a bit more, and wow about the whole rib situation!
A random fact about me would be:
I once learned to play Fur Elise on the piano. It was the only song I could play, and I didn’t even know the notes well! It has always been one of my favorite musical pieces.
Random Fun Fact: I just took a watercolor painting class, my first, and loved it. Can’t wait to really get started…..
