OPENING THE NEW YEAR DOOR 2024
Isaiah 43:18-20 (CEV)
Forget the Past The Lord said:
18 Forget what happened long ago!
Don’t think about the past.
19 I am creating something new.
There it is! Do you see it?
I have put roads in deserts,
streams in thirsty lands.
20 Every wild animal honors me,
even jackals and owls.
I provide water in deserts—
streams in thirsty lands
for my chosen people.
1 Peter 2:9 (CEV)
9 But you are God’s chosen and special people. You are a group of royal priests and a holy nation. God has brought you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Now you must tell all the wonderful things he has done. The Scriptures say,
10 “Once you were nobody.
Now you are God’s people.
At one time no one
had mercy on you.
Now God has treated you
with kindness.”
Thank God for His mercy and the grace to begin fresh without the weight of the world holding us back and without the weight of our disappointments and shortcomings. He forgets these for His sake. Let us give ourselves the same gift.
REFLECTING & ADVANCING into the NEW YEAR
Through an open door
We lift a cup
Thankful to be purified by precious blood
And in remembrance of our Bread of Life
We begin this year anew
Anticipating the journey ahead
Stepping into wonder and hope of the unknown
Knowing we are never alone because…
HE MADE US
Every vibrating atom of our being radiates with His breath
The DNA that makes us unique was fashioned by His hands
A diverse host of miraculous cells work in concert to continually build and repair our frame until our heartbeats count down to zero
HE HONORS US
With gifts and talents
To be multiplied and shared abundantly
With wisdom for those who ask
With life abundant for those who believe
HE MAKES US
Together we walk the path of life
An ongoing adventure of rest
For the joy set before Him, He endured the cross
Now a banquet table of joy is set before us
Will we choose to partake?
HE MAKES US NEW
Refreshing our souls every morning
rethinking, rediscovering, and renewing our minds
We hold out our cup of faith
Expecting more Heaven to come down than we can contain
HE LOVES US
